The inflation situation has hit all Americans hard. From eggs to other products, everything is going up faster than we can realize. However, it seems there is one heavenly product that is immune to inflation, and that is the rotisserie chicken you can find inside Costco establishments in Florida. It might not be the healthiest option in the long run, but if you’re spending five bucks plus taxes on a chicken that will last for at least two days, we could see that as a bargain. Hopefully, Costco will keep the price like this for a while.
Apprehensive_Boat798 is the one who shared the above picture on the Florida subreddit, claiming the rotisserie chicken from Costco is quite cheap, and it’s true. As you can see, the label says it is $4.99. If we compare that to chicken prices outside of Costco, some are going for almost $2 per pound, which would make a whole chicken cost around $8 to $10, which is a lot. Then again, it might be because it is an uncooked chicken, but it is still quite expensive, especially with the inflation situation we’re all facing lately.
So, having the option to eat a pre-cooked chicken in a convenient way is nice. It won’t be the healthiest, but it is a way to save money, and we can all agree that Costco food is tasty, at least for some.
Many Redditors had opinions to share on the matter, as well as some life hacks pertaining to the cheap rotisserie chicken.
“Costco will hold the line on this item to keep people coming in.” – Far_Landscape7089 via Reddit.
“Shrinkflation can. My Costco has had the smallest chickens for a long time now.” – HybridHB via Reddit.
The above statement carries a lot of truth, too. While rotisserie chicken is certainly cheap, sometimes it can be way too small. If you have a big family, it might not be enough. Still, it’s nice to see some cheaper alternatives in these trying times.
