Florida Driver Goes Viral For Replacing License Plate With a Drawing: ‘It’s Lawless on the Roads at This Point’

That’s not a license plate

People often believe that some of the strangest things happen in Florida, and there is some evidence to support these claims. For instance, not long ago, someone took a picture of a driver with one of the most questionable license plates in the state. This driver was apparently missing a proper plate and tag, so instead of waiting for a new one to arrive, they decided to replace it with a drawing. While some found this fun, several Redditors started wondering if Florida’s roads have become lawless.

I guess we’re just doing whatever we want now

The image was posted by user rflo24 on the Florida subreddit. In the picture, you can observe an old-looking Avalon with some dents and scraped paint. However, what stands out among all the details is the license plate, or rather, lack thereof.

As you can see, instead of a plate or tag, the vehicle has a sheet of paper with the letters and numbers drawn, and a message that reads “Lost Tag.” While some drivers often look for ways to let authorities know their plate has been lost, stolen, or is awaiting a new one, several Redditors believe this one takes the cake solely for its creativity.

Even if some Reddit users found the situation funny to an extent, several took it to the comments to expose a more pressing issue in Florida and to note how some of these situations occur more often than one might think across the state. With this in mind, some Floridians believe that the authorities are not enforcing the law as they should, especially on the roads.

Floridians Believe The State’s Roads are Lawless

Many Redditors commented that, while hilarious, this shows a sad reality in Florida, especially given how many drivers just put whatever they want on their vehicles, often not caring about the laws or those driving around them.

“It’s the Free State of Florida. It’s basically lawless on the roads at this point.“

“I’ve been seeing more and more cars with no plates.“

On the other hand, it seems people have grown used to these types of “plates and tags,” with some saying it’s normal in the state and that, as long as the tag is right, authorities don’t bother stopping these drivers.

“This is nothing new; people have been doing this long before I was a kid. Usually, if the cop runs the tag and it comes back legit, they don’t bother them.“

Whether it is normal or not, some people believe that authorities should enforce the law more, as driving around the city with a drawing instead of a tag or plate should not be allowed.
