Animals and humans alike have an instinct that helps us to survive. Although humans use it less, animals must follow their instincts to preserve their offspring and species. However, not all animals have a keen sense of survival. Something that this Florida woman who found a baby pigeon in her backyard, far away from its nest, and with the nestling’s parents flying around worried. This is where the feathered drama begins as two pigeons and a woman try to keep the baby pigeon safe.

REAL TIME UPDATE. IM SO WORRIED #babybird

The video belongs to TikTok by awheckitsemilyzeck, a singer from Florida named Emily Zeck. Emily shows in several videos how, in her backyard, on the ground, there was a little pigeon with his worried parents nearby. At first, this Florida woman tried her best by improvising a nest for the baby pigeon with a box and a towel. Emily gets closer, being careful not to scare the birds, but when she gets closer, she realizes that the baby fell out of the nest in a nearby tree. The singer says she can’t reach the tree either and doesn’t have a ladder high enough to do so, so she picks up the baby pigeon and leaves it in the makeshift nest on the ground.

Many users pointed out that pigeons suck at nesting and that the behavior of these birds is very “particular.”

Hi- I’m an avian biologist! This is a mourning dove fledging and this is classic behavior. This baby gorgina is ~13 days old and they leave the nest at 12-15 days old. 🥰🥰

Even with a new nest, Emily’s drama would not end soon. Then, in Update 2, the mama pigeon immediately joined her baby in the box. But by Update 3, a hawk started to fly over Emily’s yard, very aware of the pigeons. So, Emily stayed outside for a long time, waiting for the hawk to get tired and leave. In Update 4, the parents continued watching their baby and constantly going with him, but the baby felt more confident and came out of the box.

Emily continues to upload more videos, and in Update 5, the parents continue to check the surroundings and watch their baby closely. Sadly, the day is ending, so Emily moves the box further onto her porch to make it a little safer with some height, all with parental supervision. She says her yard is fenced, and there aren’t many critters in the area, but she’s still nervous. Her Update 6 is until the next day, and when Emily checks the baby, he is no longer in the box. So Emily starts looking for the baby all over the garden. Fortunately, she finds him under a bench in her garden, using leaves and flowers as another nest.

It’s a good thing the baby is safe and sound, and his parents are still nearby, with Emily helping out. This is the latest video in her profile. But surely, the baby will leave the nest very soon and become a big and strong pigeon, thanks to all who cared for him.
