When a Florida woman was trying to grab a parking spot, she was stopped from backing into her chosen space. Why? A nosy Karen decided that she was going to get in the way. And then to make matters worse, she decided to involve the police as well!
Kristen (@itskristenalli) was trying to back up in a parking spot when she was stopped by an angry Karen. She calls out, “I had my first Karen experience today!” as the woman whips out her phone. Kristen tries to explain to the belligerent woman that she was trying to reverse her vehicle into the parking space. As she’s explaining herself, the woman tells Siri to “call the police.” Kristen urges her, “Call them. I have time today.” She tells the woman she’s “wasting their time” by calling them to the scene.
The woman speaks with police on the phone and tries to tell them Kristen was driving on the “wrong side of the road.” The entire time, Kristen is in the background calling her a “liar” and trying to plead her case. Kristen accuses the woman of being racist as the woman continues to insist she was on the wrong side of the road “taking pictures.” Kristen decides to try and park in an empty parking spot while all of this is happening. While doing so, the woman tells police on the phone that Kristen is trying to “hit her” even though she’s intentionally standing behind her vehicle.
The Karen tells police that Kristen is intentionally trying to “hit another car” as she’s reversing into an empty spot in the Starbucks parking lot. Kristen tries to scream, “You’re a liar!” so that police on the phone might hear. She also confronts a man in the parking lot and asks him to “be a witness.” The young man takes her side and says he understands she’s clearly trying to park her car. When Kristen finally parks her vehicle, she sees the woman get in her own car and drive away. She demands, “Where are you going?! We’re waiting for the police!”
The video immediately sparked online reactions. Several commenters agreed that the Karen was in the wrong and should have never called police. One commenter mentioned, “Filing a false report with the police is a crime.” Another commenter urged Kristen, “Stop reacting to them, you’re giving too much energy.” One commenter agreed, “Just continue and park without communicating with her.”
Kristen’s video continues to circulate online, with many viewers expressing frustration over the encounter and discussing how situations like this should be handled. While opinions vary on the best way to respond in the moment, many commenters agreed that false accusations can have serious consequences and deserve to be taken seriously.
