Sometimes the phrase ‘play stupid games and win stupid prizes’ rings true. This was the way that things went for one Florida man who took to social media to complain about how he expected more from the current Trump presidency, putting his vote to the test. Unsurprisingly, his mistake is affecting his personal life, and many think he got what was coming to him. After all, you shouldn’t be surprised when a party of leopards eats your face.
A Florida Trump voter started out his video replying to somebody’s comment who said, “I love this for you” with various laughing emojis. The distressed, angry Trump voter shot back, “Nice. I love to see this for you. I love to see you fail.” He explains he knew of the tariffs Trump had in mind, assuming it would help small businesses. Unfortunately for him, he would be duped just like many other republican Americans.
As he preaches to his audience about how he treats people with respect in his own life, he completely misses the point. He says, “Anyone that enters my life, I’m going to judge you of who you are. How you are as a human being. Are you kind? Are you polite? Are you sincere? That’s how I judge you.”
He claims that he has far-left and far-right friends and that he would never wish failure on them. What he fails to understand is that he set them up for failure the moment that he decided to cast his vote for the same man who decided to halt nearly all federal grants and, encourage various workers to resign from their jobs. What happened to “Make America Great Again?”
Commenters Aren’t Too Sympathetic It Seems
The riled-up Florida man forgot the internet isn’t made up of like-minded conservatives who would agree with him. Reactions to his rant included “The ‘f**k your feelings’ crowd wants their feelings to be unf**d? Looool ok”.
“So not sure what empathy he’s wanting from us just because he’s financially struggling. People like him were okay with it happening to other people,” said another commenter. They hit the nail on the head with that one!
It goes way beyond mindlessly casting a vote because you think a candidate has your best interests in mind. What of the people whose rights he voted against when he decided it would suit his lifestyle? What of POC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those living in poverty? To earn empathy, you have to give it, too. That’s just a fact of life.
