A Florida nurse blasts fellow nurses for getting fired after filming TikTok videos at work. She calls this inappropriate, preventable behavior. She specifically calls out a nurse who was fired over a viral video, and then was allegedly more concerned with putting it back up.

The video has received over 50,000 views and thousands of likes. The video the Florida nurse references involved a nurse who went viral for filming in the ER. The woman was ordered to take the video down, but then allegedly seemed more concerned with putting it back up.

The video finds the Florida nurse calling out other nurses on social media, stating, “This makes us look so unprofessional.” She describes filming at work as what’s “ruining our career.” She also claims that being fired in nursing is hard to do and calls inappropriate behavior preventable. The nurse specifically addresses a video in which a woman explains that she was fired for posting instructions on how to open saline flushes in the ER. She accuses the woman of being more concerned with likes than with doing her job.

The nurse describes the comments under the controversial video as being allegedly annoyed with the woman. She claims one comment asked, “Is this why I have a four-hour wait in the ER?” These comments “seem logical to [her]” because if all you see on social media are nurses filming TikTok, then you’re going to wonder if that’s why there’s a delay. This behavior aggravates her as it makes nurses look horrible. She alleges that the woman took no accountability after being fired. The Florida nurse argues that “you’re paid to work as a nurse, not as a social media influencer that is also a nurse.”

Florida Nurse Sparks Social Media Debate

The woman’s words have sparked heated responses, with many agreeing with her. One comment reads, “Please don’t film at work even if it’s on your break.” Another agrees, “We are there to take care of patients and to keep them safe and their identities secure.” Although some are shocked that these nurses even have time to film. One asks, “As an ER RN, how do you even have time to make a video?!” Others feel that filming in hospitals is everywhere now. However, some don’t feel filming is necessarily a bad thing. One states, “social media could be used as a tool correctly and effectively and build morale.”

This video is getting attention because social media is a constant daily presence, and filming in public is rising amid societal tension. Filming in public has sparked a debate. Some don’t see the issue, while others feel it has no place in healthcare.

It is unclear how long the trend of nurses filming in hospitals will last.
