Florida Rep. Angie Nixon Turns Laura Loomer’s Racist Attack Into Senate Campaign Pitch: ‘You Can Call Me Senator!’

That was quite the exchange

Florida State Representative turned an extraordinarily ugly exchange with conservative activist Laura Loomer into a campaign pitch after Loomer repeatedly attacked the former with racist and misogynistic language on the social media platform X. Rather than getting fragged into a prolonged insult war, Nixon reminded Loomer of her elected title before pointing towards the one she hopes voters will give her next.

“When referring to me, it’s Representative Angie Nixon. However after November 3rd, YOU CAN CALL ME SENATOR!“

The social media confrontation followed a lengthy post from Loomer that targeted Nixon alongside Representative Ilhan Omar, Representative Ayanna Pressley, Former Representative Cori Bush, and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Loomer acknowledged that her comments would be characterized as racist before writing, “These women are all ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive black [EXPLETIVE] who are completely unfit for the power they hold.“

Loomer tied her criticism to Nixon’s political associations and past comments, including her support of resolutions concerning Charlie Kirk and campaigning alongside online personality Hasan Piker. To justify her comments, Loomer wrote in her original post, “I’m so sick of watching Republicans refuse to speak out forcefully because they are terrified of being called racist or Islamophobic by ghetto black and Muslim communist [expletive].“

Originally, Nixon responded with humor, referencing a video in which Loomer ate dog food and borrowing a famous Queen Latifah lyric, writing, “Who you calling a [expletive]?” Loomer’s response to this was, “I called you a ghetto [expletive], because you are, Angie, and your record proves it. But, you speak Ebonics though, so maybe I need to bark at you and tug your leash and then you’ll finally understand.”

This exchange forced Nixon to then shift away from trading insults and toward her campaign, correcting Loomer on how she should be addressed before declaring that she expects to be called “Senator” after November 3. She then linked to her campaign for her supporters to donate to.

Comments and Reactions to Angie Nixon’s Response to Laura Loomer

At least one person apparently took Nixon up on that invitation, writing, “I choose to let her desire to provoke anger and hatred stop with me, and I’ll donate serenely to you instead because you want every Floridian to have access to healthcare regardless of their political beliefs. Cheering for you!” This was paired with a screenshot of a donation amount.

Others were considerably more disturbed by the rhetoric itself, with another person arguing that, “The scariest part isnt that she posts like this. Its that she has the ear of people running the country and not one network has covered it. Rep. Nixon, see you at Senator.”

As the post continues to circulate online, more and more people are leaving their opinions and frustrations in the comments below.
