When it comes to cleaning products, there are ones that can only be described as durable. One of these products has to be Scrub Daddy. Their sponges are probably one of the best things that were ever invented. So when one Florida woman managed somehow to make her Scrub Daddy not durable anymore, you have to be in awe. A quick comparison between what a new Scrub Daddy looks like versus what this old one looks like will let you know that it probably went through a lot. People made sure to leave comments either to drag the Scrub Daddy or make a joke or two.
In the video shown by the Florida woman, she is holding a new orange Scrub Daddy sponge. The sound in the video during this part says, “I’m tired of this grandpa.” The Florida woman also moved the sponge’s mouth and everything like it was actually speaking. This is how you can tell she was dedicated. In the second part of the video, she shows a yellow, or at least I think it was once yellow, Scrub Daddy sponge. This one, though, looks like it was part of World War One and Two as well. The sound then says, “That’s too damn bad. You keep digging,” as she keeps using it.
People’s Reactions to the Florida Woman’s Video
The state of the old Scrub Daddy was enough to make people leave a lot of comments under the Florida woman’s video. Some pitied the poor sponge, which looks like it should be laid to rest. Like enough is enough this one is dead. One comment said with crying emojis, “he looks angry too.” I, too, would have been angry if I looked like him. Another person loved the video (it is really funny) as they said, “This is what I pay internet bills for.” One TikTok user spoke on behalf of the Scrub Daddy sponge, and they wrote, “‘I was born in this sink! I will die in this sink!’” One person even compared the sponge to Shameless’s Frank Gallagher. I can actually see it.
The sound on the video was fitting since many pointed out how the old Scrub Daddy really looks like a grandpa. “wow I feel bad ive [sic] never kept a scrub daddy long enough that it became a scrub granddaddy.” One woman also left a comment under the Florida woman’s video where she said, “not the Scrub Grandpa.” Another woman shared her own experience with an elder Scrub Daddy. “I finally put my scrub grandpa to rest. We had a good half a year together,” she wrote. I think maybe Scrub Daddy should start putting an expiration date on their sponges. Or at least write a line where they say something like, “If it looks like a Scrub Grandpa, it’s ready for retirement.”
