Following Acheron’s Latest Trailer, Trailblazers Wonder What Happened With the Annihilation Gang

Fans of this turn-based game are already well aware that there are many unknowns and several characters who are not who they claim to be. One of the biggest mysteries is how Honkai Star Rail relates the story between Acheron and the Annihilation Gang. Especially since the “Galaxy Ranger” is the main suspect in the disappearance of the peaceful “family.” However, in Acheron’s last animated short, she reveals crucial details of what happened before all the characters arrived at Penacony.

Honkai Star Rail Acheron’s Trailer Reveals Clues About What Happened With The Annihilation Gang

Animated Short: Rondo Across Countless Kalpas | Honkai: Star Rail

Before Penacony, in the Trailblazer mission: The Doctor Known as Ratio, the Trailblazer joins forces with Dr. Ratio. The two of them work together to discover that the one who is making researchers disappear is Duke Inferno, and with his family, they seem to be new enemies we might have to face. Honkai Star Rail dedicated a trailer just to introduce the Annihilation Gang, and then the game stated they would not reach Penacony. Furthermore, thanks to the Animated Short: Rondo Across Countless Kalpas, it is very likely that Duke Inferno will not become a playable character unless they pull off a ‘Robin’ on us.

The reference lasts only a few seconds, in which Duke Inferno falls into the void while the white-haired Acheron with red flowers floats above everything. In addition to the scenes where the swordswoman is always depicted as a hunter or a predator, we can believe that at least Duke Inferno became her prey. There are no hints about the rest of the members of the Annihilation Gang, but who knows? Maybe Honkai Star Rail could have them appear now to surprise everyone in Version 2.1.

The latest Acheron demo also explores more of Acheron’s past and the catastrophe her planet suffered when it collided with another planet. It also shows more parallels between Honkai Star Rail and Honkai Impact. But there are still many mysteries to unveil and masks to remove as we play our part in the show that the planet of festivities has for us. Hopefully, by the end of the main story, all the unknowns will be cleared up with each new update and not left on a cliffhanger like what happened with The Xianzhou Luofu. So far in this first act, I only have more doubts than answers, and the play is barely in the phase of introducing the main actors.
