Fortnite has today launched its February 8 update on all platforms, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. Given that this is merely labeled as a hotfix, Fortnite unfortunately isn’t getting too much exciting content to sink your teeth into this week. With that being said, there is one new weapon that should shake things up. This comes in the form of a small machine pistol, modeled in the same style as something like an Uzi submachine gun. Considering this will be a nice and quick set of patch notes though, let’s not waste more time. Without further adieu, here’s everything new with Fortnite in its February 8 update!
Fortnite February 8 Update Patch Notes
Go Close Proximity With the Machine Pistol
Like to fight your battles up close and personal? The Machine Pistol deals intense damage when your opponent’s near at hand. It’s effective at longer ranges too, as long as you’re firing at shorter bursts to maintain accuracy. This Pistol has an extended magazine size for slightly more sustained fire.
Find Machine Pistols on the ground, in normal Chests, Rare Chests, and Supply Drops, and from fishing and sharks.
Competitive Notes
- The Machine Pistol is not included in competitive playlists but is subject to an evaluation period.
Yes, that is, unfortunately, the only change being made this week. With that being said, there is quite a bit of versatility packed into the small Machine Pistol. Like said by the developers themselves, this weapon can dominate when used at shorter ranges to deal high amounts of burst damage. And while its effectiveness does drop the further enemies go, it can still pack a punch in the right hand. All in all, an interesting if unremarkable addition.
Fortnite and the February 8 update are available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For more information regarding this update, check out the official website.
