Fortnite is always surprising its players with new and creative weapons. This season, we got a few medieval-themed ones that fit right in with the map’s look. Yet, some players stopped liking one of the newest ones due to a glitch that got abused. The Shockwave Hammer had a glitch that let players bounce indefinitely in Fortnite. This was almost a sure win for those using the glitch because it let them avoid almost all shots from players. This became a hot topic over the weekend, and Epic Games took the decision of removing the Shockwave Hammer once and for all.
A glitch let Shockwave Hammer wielders bounce indefinitely in Fortnite
This became really annoying in all game modes. Some players reported users abusing the glitch after the match was over. When this didn’t help, players started voicing their concerns online with the hopes of removing this item from the game. Thankfully, it paid off. While it is nice to see this item leave, it is also sad to see a new weapon having such a short lifespan. While it was overpowered in some ways, without the glitch, the weapon was fun to use. As always, players abusing the Shockwave Hammer glitch means all other Fortnite players have to pay for it.
Due to an issue, we have temporarily disabled the Shockwave Hammer in all playlists.
Our intent is to re-enable the Shockwave Hammer in the next game update when this issue has been resolved. pic.twitter.com/I2Ap8XCbZ7

Fortnite: How to Block Shots With The Guardian Shield
This isn’t the first time players abuse glitches or bugs. We all know that New World had one of the rockiest launches for an MMO. In the game, you were able to ban a player by reporting them constantly. People saw this as a way to win in PvP matches which quickly turned into abuse. Sadly, this is also made its way to Fortnite in the form of a glitch in the Shockwave Hammer. We are unsure if Epic Games plans to bring the item back in the future once it’s fixed or if it is gone forever. For now, there are still more things to try inside the game such as the new Shield and more. So, queue for some matches and stack up some experience for your Battle Pass and the mid-season drops.
