BitLife gives you the freedom to direct your character’s life however you see fit. You can grow up perfectly normal, going to college, falling in love, etc. Or you can even aim for royalty if you set your sights higher. But if you’d like some danger in this little slice of life, then you need to commit a crime. Staying in prison isn’t necessary, and you don’t even need to buy the get-out-of-jail-free card. Instead, there are a couple of different ways you can escape from BitLife prison.

There’s a host of crimes you can commit to land yourself behind bars. Funnily enough, you can do this as a child too if you want to be sent to juvenile detention. You can still work to escape, but the outcome won’t be the same. We’ll touch on that later. For now, just know that you can do something as light as pickpocketing or as serious as murder. Whatever gets you in the position to escape from prison in BitLife will work.

There are two main methods you can use to escape BitLife prison:

  • Escape on your own
  • Start a riot

Both of these require you to complete a minigame. However, you have a much stronger chance to escape on your own than you do if you go the riot route. Both are still possible, nonetheless.

The most obvious way to escape prison is to navigate to the prison screen and select “Escape.” You’re able to attempt this once per year. So, if you fail, you can age up and try again later. Note though that you do run the risk of extending your sentence or even being sent to max.

The jail maps in BitLife are randomized, so there’s no one set way to escape. Just know that you must do a brief minigame where you navigate your character on a chessboard-like screen, staying away from the officer until you reach the exit. The cop will move two spaces for each space you take, and they will always start moving horizontally to reach you. You can escape BitLife prison by trapping the cop in one of the grid squares. Escape Prison Through a Riot

If you start a riot, you can try to escape that way. You’ll select the option from the prison menu to instigate a riot. It’ll give you a familiar minigame if you burglarized a house when getting arrested. In the minigame, you must swipe your character around the map and collect inmates, obviously avoiding the police as you move. Collecting 10 inmates should start the riot.

There’s no guarantee you will escape, however. People can die on both sides of the riot, and if your side fails, you’re most likely injured and tossed back in jail with a higher sentence. Perhaps the best way to escape via prison riot in BitLife is to round up about 20 or so inmates. The more people on your side the better.

So now that you know how to escape prison, you can live your very best crime-filled life. If you leave as an adult, you’ll be on the run. However, if you escape as a juvenile delinquent, don’t be surprised once your parents turn you back in.
