Among the many fun and unique alien-related challenges of Fortnite Season 7’s Week 11, one of them requires players to “mark an alien parasite.” Completing this quest will reward players with a generous amount of XP, which will undoubtedly benefit those working towards unlocking Battle Stars for the battle pass. While marking these pests is a simple task, some players may not clearly understand these instructions. Those who’ve encountered the parasites already will know they’ll attach themselves to just about anything that moves — from players to even animals. Read on to learn how to mark an alien parasite in Fortnite.
How to Mark an Alien Parasite in Fortnite
To mark an alien parasite in Fortnite requires finding the little buggers first. While they can be found across the regions on the map, a prominent location they’ll spawn around is Holly Hatchery. After spotting an alien parasite, use the “ping” button to mark it. Doing this should successfully complete the quest.
Holly Hatchery is found on the southwestern side of Fortnite‘s map. Search around the area for parasites. After spotting one, if it’s attached to the head of an animal, shoot the animal to have the alien fall down and advance to the player. If the parasite is still unhatched within its eggs, approach it or fire at it for the alien to emerge.
Use the left button on the D-pad for console or the middle mouse button for PC to mark an alien parasite. Players who’ve changed the default ping action in their controls will have to check their in-game settings to see which button they should press. After successfully marking the alien parasite, Fortnite players can either kill it for extra XP or allow it to latch onto their heads for a loss of max HP but a boost in movement speed and jump height.
Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android.
