Although Fortnite‘s AFK emote has only recently been added, it has brought a lot of bad and cruel comments to go with it. You may have been thinking about how this simple emote doesn’t meet players’ expectations or what players might not like about it, but in our opinion, they have a point. The only reason players don’t like this new AFK emote in Fortnite is that it doesn’t serve the intended function. Let’s take a look at what Fortnite players are complaining about with this new emote.

AFK Emote, More Like Be Right Back Like in 20 Seconds

The AFK emote was added to the marketplace in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 on March 13 for 200 V-Bucks. When purchasing this emote, players had one expectation: to use it in the lobby when they were AFK. However, as @Pairomedics pointed out in the thread, Epic Games failed to meet this simple expectation.

People who purchased this supposedly creative emote to use during their AFK time were disappointed to discover that it only lasted for 20 seconds. Many Fortnite players have taken this concern to X and Reddit to expostulate Epic Games, stating that they wish the AFK emote lasted longer or had an infinite loop like Infinite Dab.

Such a small mistake will cause many players not to buy this emote. As The Nerd Stash team, we hope that Epic Games will see and meet the players’ expectations and fix this small flaw as soon as possible. Otherwise, no one wants to spend money on a product that does not meet the expected function, no matter how cheap it is.
