Fortnite introduced Ranked Mode in v24.40, marking the start of Ranked Season Zero. This new competitive feature offers players the opportunity to test their skills and climb through various ranks, culminating in the prestigious Unreal rank. Let’s dive into the details of Fortnite Ranked Mode and what it means for competitive gameplay.
Fortnite v24.40: All Details About Ranked Mode
What Will Ranks Be?
Ranked Mode consists of eight ranks— Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal. The first five ranks (Bronze to Diamond) are divided into three sub-ranks, while Elite, Champion, and Unreal have a single rank each. Players must progress through each rank to reach the coveted Unreal rank.
Ranked Season Zero will last until the end of Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 3. During this period, Epic Games will collect feedback, address any issues or concerns, and work on additional features and improvements for future Ranked seasons. Players can keep track of bug fixes and updates by referring to the Fortnite Trello Board.
In Season Zero, your initial ranks in Battle Royale and Zero Build modes will be determined based on your past match performance and your first Ranked match in each mode. Playing just one Ranked match will unveil your starting rank for that mode.
How Will Ranking Up Work?
Within the Lobby, players who have enabled Ranked Mode will see their current rank displayed on the left side of the screen. A progress bar indicates the distance to the next rank or the possibility of returning to the previous one. Several factors influence the progress bar, including match placement, the number of eliminations, and the ranks of eliminated opponents. Eliminations later in the match hold more weight than early eliminations. In team-based modes, progress is calculated collectively for the entire team.
Which Modes Will Support Ranked?
At the launch of Ranked Mode in version 24.40, Battle Royale supports Solo, Duos, and Squads, while Zero Build supports Duos. Each mode has separate ranks, allowing players to compete in both Battle Royale and Zero Build independently.
