Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has introduced a highly anticipated competitive feature. The new mode allows players to showcase their skills and advance through eight ranks. The purpose of this mode is to create a fair and balanced environment in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. At the beginning of the season, players’ starting ranks in each mode will be determined by considering their performance in previous matches as well as their performance in their first Ranked match.

What Is Fortnite Ranked Mode? Explained
Ranked is a competitive experience that rewards players with assigned ranks depending on their number of wins throughout a season.
Within the Lobby, players who have enabled Ranked Mode will see their current rank displayed on the left side of the screen. A progress bar will show the distance to the next rank or the possibility of returning to the previous rank. The progress bar takes into account factors such as match placement, number of eliminations, and the ranks of eliminated opponents.
Eliminations made later in the match carry more weight than early eliminations. In team-based modes, progress is calculated collectively for the entire team.
In Season Zero, your initial ranks in Battle Royale and Zero Build modes will be determined based on your past match performance and your first Ranked match in each mode. Playing just one Ranked match will reveal your starting rank for that mode.
