Fortnite Removing Olympian Powers From Its Greek Mythology Season is Ridiculous

The best mythic items ever are gone!

The main theme of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals is, as we all know, Greek Mythology, but Epic Games has suddenly thrown that out the window and removed the season’s most important items from the game. The fact that Epic Games made this decision due to a flash-in-the-pan collaboration is even more upsetting and not well-received by Fortnite players. Now, without further delay, let’s talk about why Epic Games may’ve made such an absurd decision.

Epic Games Got Rid of Olympian Powers Over Collaboration

The current season — Myths and Mortals — is about the Greek Gods and their powers. As we all know, there are Zeus, Ares, Cerberus, and Hades bosses in the game. In addition to this, we also had access to mythological mythic items such as Chains of Hades, Wings of Icarus, and Thunderbolt of Zeus until April 12. However, Epic Games decided to throw all this away out of the blue just for an Avatar the Last Airbender collaboration.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Avatar the Last Airbender, but I don’t understand the idea of abandoning the theme of an entire season just for a collaboration event. Epic Games has decided to vault these Greek Mythology-themed mythic items until the end of the Avatar the Last Airbender event on May 3.

Some of you may think that this is no big deal, but I think it is. The reason for this is that right after this event ends, on May 4th, the Star Wars event will start and there is a high probability that Olympian Powers will not be added to the game again. I have no idea how long the Star Wars event will last, but Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will end on May 24th.

As far as I remember, Epic Games has never made such a ridiculous decision before. We’ve only been able to play the season’s main items for a very short period of time. And it’s disappointing for a lot of players, myself included. Especially since Chains of Hades was added way later than the other items. Seriously, I couldn’t get enough of it.

I hope Epic Games reverses this ridiculous decision. And — at bare minimum — make sure these items don’t get locked away during the Star Wars event. Fingers firmly crossed, eh?
