A month after July’s Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo continues to showcase a total of 12 more third-party partner titles through this month’s Direct Mini stream. Among those new games and DLC announcements, the stream also unveiled some interesting titles for music-based games fans out there. Here is the list of four new Switch rhythm games revealed in August Nintendo Direct Mini.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack
An enhanced port of 3DS Japan-exclusive Taiko no Tatsujin: Dokodon! Mystery Adventure and Don and Katsu’s Space-time Adventure. In this RPG spin-off bundle, you can recruit more than 250 monsters to create a formidable party and take down fearsome foes in ‘Taiko Battles’. Although if you prefer to just play along to the music, a rhythm mode is also available with more than 130 songs — including new songs such as Gurenge from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Rhythmic Adventure Pack is set to be released in winter 2020.
Just Dance 2021
First debuted in 2009 Just Dance has somewhat become a staple of yearly releases, not unlike sports game series such as FIFA, Madden, NBA, and the likes. This year Just Dance 2021 is going to be packed with a new co-op mode alongside 40 hot new tracks, including songs from popular artists like Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa and Feel Special by TWICE. This particular Switch rhythm game will launch on November 12th of this year.
A brand new rhythm game from the creators of Rock Band, Harmonix. This self-proclaimed “next evolution of music gaming” promises to serve a “non-stop digital music festival”. Taking the role of a DJ, you can control how the music in the party plays out by combining specific track of songs to create your own amazing mixes. You can also collaborate with friends through the game’s multiplayer mode. FUSER launches this fall for Nintendo Switch.
Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory
After it was first announced back in June, the August Nintendo Direct Mini provided more information about this Switch rhythm game. Releasing on November 13th, Melody of Memory will have a variety of modes, including:
- Experiencing a chapter of the Kingdom Hearts series from Kairi’s perspective.
- Memory Drive, which involves matching past scenes from memory.
- Boss Battle, where you square off against fearsome bosses with special attacks.
- Local and online multiplayer.
- And a new Switch-exclusive called free-for-all that features local multiplayer action for up to eight players.
