The hype for Sony’s new Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4 has hit a fevered pitch in these last hours before launch, as gamers eagerly await their chance to get their hands on Spidey’s new adventure. While you’re sitting there twiddling your thumbs, be productive and download a shiny new PS4 theme exclusively for the game. Now you can stare at the game you don’t have for the next 24 hours, making the wait even more excruciating.
The static theme, which features an image illustrated by Marko Djurdjevic, makes awesome web-whipping sounds as you peruse your menu screen and gives all the symbols a cool Spider-Man-esque pattern. The drawing is pretty neat too, depicting Spidey swinging into battle against Scorpion and the Rhino. The whole package is rounded out nicely to the background music of the game’s score.
If you’re wondering how to download such an amazing freebie, all you must do is visit Sony’s official countdown page for the game, scroll down and click “Claim Reward”. You will then be directed to a window that gives you a code to redeem on the PlayStation Store. From there, download the theme and head over to the Themes section of settings to select it as your new favorite PS4 theme. It’s likely only a limited time item so make sure you don’t let this one go!
If you’ve been wondering how the new Spider-Man game is fairing as far as reviews go, its Metacritic score is currently sitting at a nice and crisp 87. If you go to the site you’ll be able to see what major news outlets thought of the game (spoiler: they’re mostly positive), and then you can reassure yourself that your pre-order was not a mistake.
Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 will be released this Friday, September 7. If you have pre-ordered the game at GameStop make sure you’re there at 9 P.M. on the 6th if you want it to play it the night before it comes out and all the way through to the break of dawn.
