An employee at FromSoftware named Kenneth Chan has recently updated their LinkedIn profile to include their role as a producer on an “unannounced project”. This project is separate from both Armored Core 6 and Elden Ring’s upcoming DLC. According to GamesRadar, Chan has been working on this new game for approximately one year and three months, but there are currently no clues as to what it might be. There are several possibilities, such as a sequel to one of FromSoftware’s existing games, like Sekiro or even Elden Ring; it could be a completely new intellectual property, or it could even be a remaster of an older game, but this is not as likely. Fans of Bloodborne are hoping for a 60fps update, or even better, Bloodborne 2.

The job update was first spotted by Timur222 on Twitter, who attached a link to Chan’s profile, which still lists the unannounced project. Although the game is unknown, we do have some insight into what kind of role Chan might play in its development. Based on their history with FromSoft, they co-directed the initial prototype of Armored Core 6 and designed the player progression system for Elden Ring. Therefore, it is likely that Chan will play an integral role in this new project.

FromSoftware Seems To Be Working On An Unannounced Game

Armored Core 6 is FromSoftware’s first non-Souls-like game since Demon’s Souls in 2009. It is returning to the mecha action of the original games. Since Demon’s Souls, FromSoftware has developed three Dark Souls games as well as three Souls-likes with Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. This new FromSoftware game could either continue Armored Core 6‘s shift away from that long streak, or it could return to the Souls-like formula. It is currently unknown what direction they will take with the new project.

Neither of FromSoftware’s known projects have gotten a release date yet. Armored Core 6 is reportedly launching in September, with Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC set to release sometime after. It is currently unknown whether that means this year or next. Since Kenneth Chan has only been working on the new unannounced project for just over a year, it is likely that it will be some time before any official announcements or previews are released.
