Trips to gas stations are typically pretty uneventful, as most of the time, folks pull up, fill up their tanks, pay, and then drive off. That wasn’t the case at a California gas station recently, however, as a Karen was caught on camera having an emotional meltdown. The reason why? Well, a fuel tanker truck was doing its job and delivering fuel, but was partially obstructing the exit, which didn’t sit too well with the California Karen, who didn’t have the patience to wait and didn’t want to drive her vehicle around then fuel truck.
The video takes place at a gas station in California, and centers on a woman sporting a blue cap, black hoodie, black skirt, and white sneakers. This is the Karen who is being impatient and pushy, and she gives the cameraman a nonchalant shrug before exclaiming, “Really?” The man recording the footage confirms who he is, stating, “You’re being recorded. I’m here to do my job.“
The Karen is not very pleased, and explains why, expressing, “You’re in the way, sir.” In rebuttal, the truck driver calmly clarifies, “I’m in the way? I’m delivering gasoline, ma’am. You can just swing out.” It’s at this point where the Karen’s frustrations begin to intensify, as she fires back, “You can do your f*cking job better! Not that hard! You’re being recorded, you f*cking c*nt!” as she heads back to her car. Nearby, you can see a man who is with her, and he’s presumably a friend of hers or her partner, and he’s stood with his hand on his hip, and staring at the fuel tanker driver in a disapproving sort of way.
“I’m here to deliver my load. What’s going on?” asks the delivery driver, though the gentleman he’s speaking to doesn’t give a clear response. Instead, the Karen yells from the car, “Oh, David, we have to go! I wanna go see my god kids. This is bullish*t!” Both David and Karen get back into their white vehicle, and the driver utters, “Wow,” under his breath. As he zooms in his camera, you can just about make out the vehicle’s California numberplate. As the couple drive away, however, the Karen gives rude and insulting gestures through the window, and shoots the fuel delivery driver the middle-finger.
While the clip continues to circulate online, social media users took to the comments to share their viewpoint on the footage. On Reddit, many netizens sympathised with David, who seemed to be a little bit embarrassed by the Karen’s rude actions. One person wrote, “Poor David, he’s gonna have to listen to her rant about this all the way to their destination.” while another chimed in with, “They’ll get to the location and he’ll have to listen to her complain about it to her god kids’ mom.” A third commenter added, “gotta love the silent, exhausted back up from david.” while another penned, “David wanted crazy, David got crazy“.
