CD Projekt Red closed out Microsoft’s E3 conference with a trailer for their latest game, Cyberpunk 2077. You can see the full trailer below:

While this was an amazing trailer, we didn’t get to see any gameplay or details revolving around CD Projekt Red’s next big title. That was until today.

Coming from a live gameplay demonstration behind closed doors, IGN’s Marty Sliva and Tom Marks divulged many details about what they’ve seen from Cyberpunk 2077. Here is just some of what they revealed.

The Basics

Cyberpunk 2077

According to the IGN article, CD Projekt describes the game as a “first-person RPG”. You play as a person named V, who can be a man or a woman. There aren’t any classes to select from at the start of the game. You “evolve the class you want to be as you play instead of picking a role”.

Strength, Reflexes, Tech, Intelligence, Constitution, and Cool are the stats you can select from at the beginning. Dialogue options in conversations are also included. These dialogue choices will impact you and the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

You gain access to more areas of the map by using your “street cred”. IGN used this as an example of how you can raise your street cred: “a specific jacket might raise it by 5%, allowing you to access new places”. You will also gain street cred by turning in quests.

While the gameplay is in first-person, cutscenes are shown in a third-person view. You have the ability to drive cars and “seemingly” switch from first and third-person view while driving. If you drive in first-person, the U.I. appears diegetically on your windshield. Combat while in vehicles is also in Cyberpunk 2077. Passenger AI can take over steering while you shoot out of your window.

Apparently, the U.I. in the live demo was “just a light compass and a small quest log.” During combat, enemies had health bars, and levels. Some enemies apparently had a question mark instead of a level, possibly meaning they are a higher level than you.

Sliva and Marks stated that gun gameplay “feels slower than Doom or Borderlands, but faster than Fallout 4”. Some late-game abilities include wall running and “mantis-like” blade arms.

You also have many ways to bypass areas depending on your specific skill-sets, an ability that allows you to slow down time, and an inhaler (which is how you heal yourself).

In this report, CD Projekt Red described Cyberpunk 2077 as a “mature experience intended for mature audiences”.

I don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait to see more of Cyberpunk 2077. What did you think about its trailer at E3? Which game won the conference in your eyes? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
