The grassroots organization Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) will be kicking off its 2022 charity event this weekend. The annual event is known for speed runs, gameplay showcases, and competitions. It will be streamed live online in its entirety to keep everyone as safe as possible and can be viewed on their official Twitch channel.

Starting with the pre-show at 9:30 AM and then kicking things off with the first of the games, Nioh 2 with AxelSanGo, the show will continue throughout the week leading up to a Metal Gear Solid speed run by dlimes13 and the finale at 10:13 PM on Saturday the 15th. For the entire event schedule, see the full schedule page.

A showcase of player ability and speed

Players will show off their skills in various games over the event. Titles like Psychonauts 2 and Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and even classic games like Diddy Kong Racing and Half-Life 2 will be showcased during the Games Done Quick event. While most of the event will impress and entertain fans, there will be a feature that includes a 55-minute run of Fallout New Vegas by BananasPegasus.

Other games and players include Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by Mitchriz and a glitched speed run of Stardew Valley featuring Olenoname. Like previous AGDQ events, this one supports good causes to help others.

Helping others through video games

This year’s charity event will support the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Additionally, you can donate directly during the span of the event through the webpage, GamesDoneQuick.com. One hundred percent of all the online donations to AGDQ this year will go directly to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Since the beginning, Awesome Games Done Quick has partnered with various charities, including AbleGamers, Organization for Autism Research, and Doctors Without Borders. Last year’s event was able to raise a total of 2.3 million dollars. By bringing together gamers of all varieties, the event has raised around $34 million in total.
