Gears of War 4 still has a few months left before its October release date. However, Microsoft reminded fans of the series why they should be excited, with a brief gameplay video of the campaign.

In the video, J.D., older Marcus Fenix, Del, and Kait are tracking down some creatures called the Swarm. The four are traveling through a wild area after their village was destroyed and Kait’s mom was abducted. They encounter an unusually powerful storm near the end of the footage.

The new game advertised its continuation of protagonist Marcus Fenix’s story. Yet the campaign will remain more focused on Fenix’s son, J.D. As you can see from the video, the player is in control of J.D. throughout, and Marcus only appears briefly. Microsoft reassured that Marcus will be a playable character in the multiplayer campaign, as well as Horde Mode.

In addition to the campaign gameplay, Microsoft also released a minute-long video overview of a new multiplayer map called Forge.

Of course, Microsoft isn’t done there. The company also announced that they are producing a special $450 2 TB Gears of War 4 Xbox One S console. It contains some bonus content and is available for pre-order now.
