Alongside announcing the live PC preloads of Gears: Tactics, Microsoft has just teased us with a brand new, action-packed, drool-inducing trailer for the title. Apart from showcasing the series’ love for decadent cinematic violence, the trailer gives us a brief intro to the main cast, the new storyline and the distinct features tailored just for the tactical aficionado.
Putting aside the gorgeous graphics, the trailer shows off one very rugged protagonist, Gabe Diaz, as he recruits and trains a fresh batch of Gears in order to defeat the Locust Leader, Ukkon. With the emphasis on strategic play, players are given 5 different classes with over 150 unlockable skills. Building the framework for a lot of individual choice and customization.
Gears: Tactics is the first title in the franchise to be handcrafted specifically for a PC audience. While the top-down, turn-based gameplay on offer looks to be very similar to that of the hit X-Com series. What’s more, is the classic guts-spilling, head-smashing, grenade-tagging brutality of the series remains dutifully intact. With players receiving in-game bonuses as an incentive for those visceral iconic oh-so-satisfying executions. You can check out the trailer down below.
