General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn is just as outspoken as her character Alexis Davis. Fans of the soap opera actress are accustomed to her voicing her opinion about politics and other issues on social media. She also isn’t afraid to call out anyone for their controversial beliefs. Recently, the star responded to Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s tweet about the government and the weather.

Last week, Hurricane Helene caused destruction in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. While communities are coming together to help each other, many people are using the storm for a political debate.

Greene sparked controversy on X when she implied that the government is controlling the weather.

Yes they can control the weather.

It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.

Greene’s tweet quickly generated backlash, and Grahn was among the angry people who responded. The actress replied to the politician with a snappy comeback.

My father Mikos Cassadine had a weather machine that could control the weather, Marge. BUT THAT WAS ON A FREAKING SOAP OPERA IN THE FAKE TOWN

General Hospital Fans Applaud Nancy Lee Grahn’s Response

Grahn referenced an iconic 1981 General Hospital storyline in the tweet. The storyline had Alexis’ father, the villainous Mikos Cassadine use the Ice Prince diamond to power his weather machine. Mikos plotted to use the weather machine to freeze the world, starting with Port Charles. However, his plan is foiled when he’s killed by Luke Spencer.

This tweet is gold if you were ever a fan of General Hospital. Thank you Nancy!

Another fan immediately thought of the storyline upon seeing Greene’s statement:

GURL I thought the same thing where’s Luke and Laura when you need them.

One fan took a trip down memory lane with Grahn’s tweet:

I remember that back in the early 80s. That storyline was nuts, but sooooooo good. Now I’m aging myself.

Another commenter thinks they know where Greene got the inspiration for her tweet:

So GH is where MTG got her talking points. Look at what you did!!!!

While some people found humor in Nancy Lee Grahn and Marjorie Taylor Greene’s exchange, it’s no laughing matter for others. Many people are struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene’s destruction, and need all the help they can get.
