Genshin Impact 4.1 Has Changed The Daily Commission System (& It’s Way Better)

HoYoverse has finally gotten around to updating Genshin Impact’s old Daily Commission system.

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Genshin Impact Version 4.1 has been released, bringing with it massive amounts of content. With new characters, expansions to Fontaineโ€™s map, and events, there is more than enough to keep players occupied. Underneath these huge additions, a noticeable detail has been changed, adjusting an in-game system that has remained the same since launch. Finally, after almost three years, Daily Commissions have received a new coat of paint in Genshin Impact Version 4.1. While it may feel weird for HoYoverse to mess with an unchanged part of Genshin so far into the gameโ€™s lifetime, these changes are definitely for the better.

Before Genshin Impact 4.1, Daily Commissions were simple objectives players could complete daily for staple rewards. After completing all four quests, players will receive compensation like Primogems. Generally, Daily Commissions are relatively simple tasks, like fighting some enemies or giving an NPC some resources. On the other hand, a few of the objectives are more time-consuming, sending players on multi-part fetch quests or complicated minigames. Overall, this can lead to some very frustrating experiences, as well as a twinge of pain when opening Genshin and realizing you have the worst lineup of Daily Commissions.

Daily Commissions have now been retooled to give players more options on how to complete them. While the original system is still available, a new alternative system will help mix up the usual Genshin Impact Daily Commission grind. Instead of clearing objectives, players simply need to explore the world of Teyvat to earn Encounter Points. Once youโ€™ve earned enough points, you can use them as a substitute for your usual four Daily Commission. Players can earn Encounter Points simply by playing Genshin Impact by doing things like opening chests and completing quests.

Overall, this is an excellent change of pace that prevents the repetitive grind of Daily Commissions from ruining Genshin Impact. Doing the same rotating set of Daily Commissions can get annoying after a while. As fun as it is to bounce on mushrooms in Sumeru or play hide-and-seek in Fontaine, these sorts of things quickly lose their novelty after only a few completions. Genshin Impact 4.1โ€™s new Daily Commission system will let players earn rewards the way they want to through normal content. Due to the sheer size of Genshin, this system should take much longer to become stale.

Additionally, by focusing on completing normalย Genshin Impactย content, Version 4.1โ€™s alternative Daily Commission system will fit more naturally into your average playing session. Generally, players have a set of goals they want to complete when they log intoย Genshin.ย Some want to explore, while others want to grind for resources. Before they proceed, they usually clear their four Daily Commissions that have nothing to do with their personal objectives. While this doesnโ€™t waste a lot of time per day, only around 5-10 minutes, over time, it can start to add up. With the new system, players can simply get straight to their planned grinding and earn Daily Commission rewards the way they want to.

The Traditional Daily Commission System Is Still Available

For players who liked the old system, traditional Daily Commissions are still available. In fact, players can mix and match both the new and old systems, earning Encounter Points for some of the missions and completing Daily Commissions for the rest. For example, if players find that their daily grind didnโ€™t net them enough Encounter Points, supplementing with traditional Daily Commissions is a simple task. Since the old way is left intact, thereโ€™s really no downside to these new ways for players to enjoy the Genshin Impact.ย

While Genshin Impactโ€™s Daily Commission system was passable the way it was before, these changes make daily grinding a much more enjoyable experience. Genshin Impact 4.1โ€™s Adventure Encounter system makes grinding faster and more rewarding. Additionally, it doesnโ€™t get in the way of other Genshin Impact content and keeps everything from getting stale. Even if players arenโ€™t a fan of these new changes, the traditional system is still in place. In the end, it seems both Daily Commission systems will work very well together in the future of Genshin Impact.
