The ‘crumbs’ about Natlan and Version 5.0 have surprised many and created many disputes. This has been due to the characters’ designs of the War Nation, such as their clothes or the fact that they look very pale. Another dispute is that many believe Natlan has inspiration from Latin America, Africa, and even Spain. Others think HoYoverse focuses primarily on Mexican characteristics and are unhappy about it. However, Genshin Impact leaks about Natlan and characters for Version 5.0 show the opposite because what we do have for sure is that the region will have diverse tribes.
The information reveals a diverse cast of characters, some that were already mentioned in the game and others that could be coming. The leaks include their name, body type, weapon, and meanings of their names that could tell what Genshin Impact is based on to make their 5.0 Natlan characters. These are some of the supposedly leaked party members:
Name | Body Type | Weapon | Name’s Meaning |
---|---|---|---|
Kachina | Girl | Polearm | A spirit being of the Pueblo religion. |
Kinich/ Kʼinich | Boy | Claymore | A Yucatec name for the Mayan god of the Sun. |
Mualani | Girl | Catalyst | Hawaiian high chiefess. |
Xilonen | Female | Sword | Aztec goddess of agriculture. |
Chasca/Ch’aska | Female | Bow | Incan goddess of dawn, twilight, and dusk. The name also means virgin woman, goddess of beauty and flowers. |
Olorun | Male | Bow | Ruler of heaven in the Yoruba religion. |
Mavuika/Mahuika | Female | Claymore | A fire deity for the Maori. |
Citlali | Girl | Catalyst | An Aztec name. It comes from a Nahuatl word that means Star. |
Iansan/Iansa | – | – | A divine spirit of winds, lighting, and violent storms in Yoruba religion. |
Xbalanque | – | – | It comes from the name of one of the twin heroes from a Mayan myth. |
These leaks could prove all the inspiration Genshin Impact had to create Natlan and its characters for Version 5.0. It’s fantastic to see a different look at tribal and indigenous culture references, such as its vast culture. Also, it is nice to know this nation is not exactly a forgotten wasteland because of the war; in the future, surely we will understand how war affects the lore of Natlan.
