Shikanoin Heizou, another Inazuman character that was talked about along with Kamisato Ayato, has now been officially revealed. Not much is known about the character yet, but regardless, we’re currently compiling every bit of information we can find surrounding Tenryou Commission’s detective for hire. With that in mind, here’s everything we know so far about the latest addition to the Genshin Impact crew, Shikanoin Heizou.
Shikanoin Heizou Release Date in Genshin Impact
The official Twitter account of Genshin Impact released Shikanoin Heizou’s teaser tweet on May 16, 2022. Following the company’s habit, he is very likely to be released as a playable character sometime soon. However, since Version 2.7 is being delayed, it might affect his release date in the game. For now, no one is sure whether Heizou will be released in Genshin Impact Version 2.7 or Version 2.8.
To compensate for the delay, miHoYo is giving players bonus items via in-game mail each week until the Version 2.7 is launched:
- 400 Primogems
- Fragile Resin x1
- Hero’s Wit x7
- Mystic Enhancement Ore x16
- And 120,000 Mora
Is Shikanoin Heizou a 4-Star or 5-Star?
Unfortunately, miHoYo hasn’t revealed much about Shikanoin Heizou aside from his teaser art. We will update this article once more information has been dropped.
Shikanoin’s Weapon and Element
- Weapon: Catalyst
- Element: Anemo
- Constellation: Cervus Minor
In the teaser art above, Shikanoin Heizou seems to be wielding a sheathed sword and an Anemo vision at the hip. But it’s not uncommon for fantasy Japanese-styled warrior characters to be depicted with some kind of shortswords such as the wakizashi or tanto. And if we consider the small curved metal to be a part of the weapon, it could instead be a jitte, a standard-issue “baton” of the 17th-century Japanese police force.
That being said, according to a Genshin Impact leaker Lumie, Heizou will be the first male character that uses the Catalyst weapon type in the game. We will update this article once more information has been dropped.
What is His Role in the Story?
A young detective from the Tenryou Commission. Free-spirited and unruly, but cheerful and lively.
At first glance, Heizou seems like an ordinary young man, but he is actually the undisputed number one detective in the Tenryou Commission.
Not only does he possess a wild imagination, but he also has a mind for meticulous logic and reasoning, as well as an extraordinary sense of intuition when it comes to solving cases.
Whenever a crime occurs, his colleagues rely on experience to help them with handling the case, but Heizou brings in an out-of-the-box perspective and gets straight to the crux of the case.
People are impressed by his razor-sharp intuition, thinking that his reasoning ability and efficiency are godlike. Here, Heizou would simply reply with his signature smile: “I don’t know, maybe this is something that even the gods can’t do!
Shikanoin Heizou is mentioned to be a rebellious Inazuman detective who works for the Tenryou Commission by his elder cousin Kano Nana. In one of the Bantan Sango Detective Agency’s in-game ads, Sango referred to Heizou as “a liar and a charlatan” and insists they “aren’t even in the same line of work.”
Nonetheless, despite showing some level of disdain towards his attitude, Heizou’s superior, Kujou Sara, admits that he always does bring back satisfactory results from his investigations.

Kamisato Ayaka
“Mr. Shikanoin belongs to the Tenryou Commission, just like Miss Kujou. He is very… principled, sometimes even more determinedly so than Miss Kujou. The only thing is, when it comes to the question of which matters should be governed by his principles, I believe only Mr. Shikanoin himself knows the answer.”
Gorou
“You mean that sneaky detective that never seems to be working on a case? Well, no one from the Shogunate can be fully trusted, so I’ll be keeping my eyes and ears on him! On a separate note, he does have some talent for investigation. But how can we know that this isn’t all part of some nefarious scheme?? Hmm. Only time will tell, I suppose.”
Sangonomiya Kokomi
“Initially, I was astonished to see anyone coming to Watatsumi Island wearing a Tenryou Commission uniform. A Tenryou Commission samurai would never be that brazen, and a Tenryou Commission spy would never be that conspicuous. Shortly after, I discovered that he was a self-proclaimed “detective” by the name of Shikanoin and that he took no interest in military, government, or commercial affairs. Instead, he seemed to have arrived for a bit of sightseeing. As such, I set a few eyes on him but refrained from taking any action to remove him from the island. be sure to talk to him if the chance presents itself.”
Kujou Sara
“Shikanoin and I may be colleagues, but I have few positive words to say about him. He seems preoccupied with his personal schemes while official duties take second place. The only reason I have not sought to bring him into line so far is that his investigations deliver results… ‘sigh’ He is such a headache.”
Thoma
“Ho, that guy is a detective for the Tenryou Commission. He seems to have his own way of doing things — not the easiest person to get along with. Also… Any situation that involves a detective is probably not one that’s going to end well. I think I’ll keep on giving him a wide berth.”
