This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The 3.0 version of Genshing Impact added a huge new region called Sumeru. A vast jungle that adds a lot of traversal and exploration options. And in a nice contrast, we got a desert region with version 3.1. Genshin Impact’s Sumeru desert is the new area you’ll want to visit in case you want to progress the story, get some primogems, and some materials too. Plus, if you pulled any of the Genshin Impact 3.1 characters, a trip to the desert is more than mandatory.

With every version, Hoyoverse is now offering new ways to skip some quests to unlock new features without having to do a lot of missions. This time there are only a few prerequisites for you to unlock the new Genshin Impact Sumeru desert. Basically, you only have to unlock Sumeru by finishing the Archon’s Quest: Requiem of the Echoing Depths. After that, you only need to download the new update and head west towards the desert. The easiest way to reach it is to follow the path all the way to Caravan Ribat. With that, you’ll be able to start farming materials in the desert for the Genshin Impact 3.1 characters and more.

Genshin Impact 3.1 Characters Guide

The Sumeru desert has a lot of things to see. While some people might think that the desert would be a barren place, it is quite the opposite. This new region has a lot of places to explore and a great vertical map design to climb and glide. Having these types of regions appear in the game is a refreshing change to the ones we got.
