Many secrets are hidden around Teyvat, such as buried chests, Easter Eggs, and sub-quests. The Shrouded Vale Hidden Hero is one of these secret quests in Genshin Impact; it is related to the Guhua clan and its legacy in Liyue. This clan was well known before, but in recent years, it has suffered a decline and has fewer followers. You may be familiar with this clan because Chen the Sharp, Little Que’er, and Xingqiu are some of its current members. However, in Chenyu Vale, we can find the disciples Huang the Third and Wen the Fourth and the clan base, where we have more mysteries to solve.
How to Start The Shrouded Vale Hidden Hero Quest in Genshin Impact
First, to start this quest, you must have finished Wangshan Walk to Remember to unlock the entrance to Wangshan Hall. You can trigger this quest by talking to Huang the Third or Wen the Fourth near the entrance. But these clan members won’t let anyone in, and you must pass these challenges to prove yourself:
- Plumwatcher Piles
You must go to the pond with stone pillars and jump on the ones marked for you without falling into the water. - Destroy Training Dummies
In another training area, you must eliminate the red dummies within a time limit. - Inside Wangshan Hall’s Gates
For this part, you can enter the hall with Huang the Third, who will explain the history of the place. Interact in the different parts of the tour with the glowing objects; you will have to talk to him several times before he asks you for money. You will pay with a Salty Dish; it is so bad that Huang the Third will confess his scam and give you the Hall Backup Key.
Complete The Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua Mission
You must still complete this mission before starting The Shrouded Vale Hidden Hero. After opening the locked door, you can investigate Wangshan Hall further. On your way, you will find the Arcane Archive and a secret room; in this room will be notes that you must read to activate and solve the mechanism. With your Elemental Sight, to see the color of the scrolls, and with the Adeptal Energy, you must place the scrolls in front of you on the shelf of the same color. There will only be one scroll hidden on a shelf behind you, down the corridor that leads to the room with Huang the Third.
When you complete the challenge, the water will go away, leaving a new path to follow. You will find a Waypoint, and there will be other puzzles around the new chamber. When you activate the surrounding mechanisms, you can start the challenge of the main mechanism in the middle of the area. You will have to survive a wave of different enemies and laser beams.
The Shrouded Vale Hidden Hero Quest
Once you finish the last trial, located on the circular platform in the flooded room, you will finish Scrolls and Sword Manuals of Guhua. Only at this point you can continue with the Shrouded Vale Hidden Hero quest, and to complete it, you must follow these steps:
- Start from the Waypoint of the room, the same of the waves of enemies. From there, you will see a Golden Carp particle above a passage.
- Walk in that direction, passing through a cave; you will reach some stairs that lead to the surface.
- It will automatically start a cutscene of Paimon reading the inscription on a sword. In the end, you will get an achievement, and you can see the tombstone, the sword, and the landscape of Yilong Wharf.
This series of quests shows that there is still a legacy of the Guhua Clan and that some of its members should seek that knowledge inside Wangshan Hall instead of scamming innocent travelers. But thanks to the Traveler, many characters end up finding their way.
