Genshin Impact‘s The Shadow Over Petrichor is the first quest in the Petrichorror Dream World Quest series. Introduced in Version 4.6, this World Quest details a series of bizarre events that occur after you and Paimon arrive at Petrichor for the first time. This quest is necessary to unlock the Statue of Marble and Brass world boss, so you’ll want to complete this quest as quickly as possible. Here’s our guide for The Shadow Over Petrichor World Quest in Genshin Impact.

The quest automatically starts after you enter Petrichor, a new area unlocked in Version 4.6 of Genshin Impact. You can unlock the Statue of the Seven and then head east towards Petrichor, where you’ll encounter some dialogue and a fight against some Treasure Hoarders. After defeating the Treasure Hoarders, you and Paimon decide to go after some treasure the hoarders were going after. Follow the quest marker and head to the heart of Petrichor. You’ll have to go through a cave to get there.

When you arrive at the quest location, you’ll find a new enemy to defeat: [Insert enemy here]. This new monster has a Geo shield, so use Geo damage to take it down. (You can still beat it without breaking its shield as it will take damage, albeit at a reduced rate.) After defeating the enemy, a cat named Osse will appear and lead you to the next part of the quest.

You’ll have to go underwater and find the Faded Castle. The game should lead you there, and a Teleport Waypoint is waiting for you at your destination if you need to head back at any moment. Osse will appear on the overworld and lead you to your next destination. Follow Osse to the next part of the quest.

Osse will teach you about the “Might of the Ancient Symphony.” Press “T” on your keyboard to activate the ability, swapping your Elemental Skill with the Ancient Symphony. You can use the power of the Symphony to solve puzzles around the Petrichor. The Genshin Impact quest Shadow Over Petrichor will conclude after you receive this ability. You must complete this quest to start the next major world quest and gain access to some new bosses.
