Chiori is making her triumphant entrance into Genshin Impact Version 4.5. However, her arrival is being overshadowed by a giant wave of complaints and hate from the player community. Chiori got a great reception thanks to her personality and design from her sneak peek at the Roses and Muskets event. Sadly, as more details have surfaced about this Geo character’s kit in Genshin Impact, players are starting to wonder if Chiori is actually the harbinger of doom for the Geo element.

Even if many players have been waiting for Chiori’s arrival for a long time, they are now hesitant to spend their Primogems on this seamstress. These negative opinions were born from her character introduction, which pointed out that Chiori is incompatible with some of the game’s Geo DPS party members. What could be a great Sub-DPS turned out to be a power creep for Liyue’s prime element. In addition, the same community again started to label HoYoverse as a greedy company. This is because Chiori, with her first constellations, is useless for other Geo DPS users, such as Navia. This means that the only way this lady will be useful is by making her reach C6, which, as you know, requires many Primogems or breaking your wallet.
No one can deny that mono-Geo teams are helpful and fun, especially for those Abyss floors with Riftwolves. However, I feel characters from this element don’t bring a lot of things to the table outside a mono-element composition. Besides the Crystallize reaction, there’s really nothing more to it. Many Travelers, myself included, believe Geo should have had a total redesign long ago. I love Chiori as a character; her design and personality are lovable, but she doesn’t bring anything new to this installment. Albedo is a better 5-star sword user than Geo, and those who have been in the game longer have him on their roster. So why is one of the first Geo members relevant, but HoYoverse can’t seem to hit the mark with new ones?
If you are looking for a Sub-DPS for your Itto or Navia, there are other better options, and they don’t need to be 5-star characters. At the time, Itto was perfect for compositions with Yunjin, Gorou, and Zhongli’s magnificent shield. Of course, everyone’s preferences are different, and a character is not inherently good or bad. Whether you’re a Chiori fan or just love her for her look, don’t let these criticisms of the character stop you from enjoying her gameplay in Genshin Impact. You can always maximize the character’s best attributes by experimenting with different builds. But if you don’t want to spend your Primogems, wait for the next banner and, hopefully, a revamp of this forgotten element.
