A Georgia mother has been charged with the murders of her two infant sons, ages 7 and 8 months old. Allegedly, she has admitted to killing them by holding their noses shut, more than three years apart from each other. Despite this, she has recently been granted a bond, but she will remain behind bars until her trial.

The mother, 21-year-old Dakota Taylor, was arrested in Jefferson County back in November 2025, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) release. She, however, was already in custody on charges out of DeKalb County. Each set of charges stemmed from the deaths of her two infant children, 7-month-old Micah and 8-month-old Caleb.

Back on September 13, 2021, Micah died while in Taylor’s care at a group home for teenage mothers in DeKalb County, WRDW reported. More than three years later, on January 8, 2025, Caleb was found dead at the home of one of Taylor’s relatives, shortly after she dropped him off. Both their causes of death were undetermined.

GBI Special Agent Kris Lapham took the stand on March 10, 2026. He stated that while investigating Caleb’s death, Taylor displayed little to no emotion.

After she was arrested, the Georgia mother allegedly admitted to killing both of her sons by holding their nostrils. Additionally, agents claimed that one of Taylor’s fellow inmates said that she had admitted to killing Caleb. Furthermore, she allegedly knew that he was dead in the car on the way to her relative’s home.

Bond Granted, Reactions

While GBI agents alleged she had admitted to the crimes, she was granted a $150,000 bond and a $300,000 property bond in Jefferson County. A month earlier, she was denied bond in DeKalb County. If she posts bond on the former, she will return to custody on the latter, along with other restrictions such as wearing an ankle monitor.

A previous WRDW report, unfortunately, detailed that Taylor’s alleged abuse also involved her other children, two baby daughters. Documents filed by the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services alleged that she had threatened to kill her daughters online and that she had held a knife to the throat of one of them. The girls were placed in foster care.

Following the news of her bond being granted, users were left flabbergasted by the details surrounding the Georgia woman’s case. One user said, “That’s a monster, not a mom.” Another one commented, “Those poor babies did not deserve that.” A third one wrote, “These stories are becoming way too common. This is disgusting.”

Taylor faces charges of malice murder, felony murder, and first-degree cruelty to children, among others.
