Sometimes, we come across people who appear at the right moment. This happened with a Georgia woman who was having a bad day and then was comforted by a homeless man. The Georgia woman, Shyann, was met with kindness by this stranger. He stayed by her side, talking to her and motivating her, not caring about the time spent. He didn’t even ask for money or have an ulterior motive. Ultimately, Shyann decided to create a GoFundMe to help the homeless man, Cupcake, get off the street and afford necessities.
All of this started when Shyann was sitting in her car crying and then was approached by Cupcake. He revealed that he had recently lost his mother and car and thus became homeless. Despite this, he was kind enough to comfort this Georgia woman who was a stranger to him. His encouraging words touched over 5 million people. Some of the things he said were:
“Don’t cry for one reason did you die? Did you lose your life? Are you still able to drive and have a car and have a license? The most important things in your life ain’t [sic] taken from you. So ain’t nothing to worry about. It’s just a minor setback that can change in the blink of an eye.”
When the Georgia woman asked him “How are you so nice?” His response was simple. “Because God moves people in more than one way. It’s a message you must get,” Cupcake said. “Positive affirmation is going to make your day,” he continued.
TikTok Reacts to Cupcake
TikTok users had a lot of reactions to the videos posted by Shyann, in which Cupcake encouraged and comforted her. Thousands of people shared how they were touched by everything Cupcake managed to say despite being homeless and struggling.
“God send vessels all the time. That’s God speaking thru [sic] him,” one user said. Another person wrote “he wasn’t a homeless man. He was an angel sent to you.” This sentiment was shared by more people who kept describing Cupcake as an angel. One TikTok user also hinted at the fact that despite everything Cupcake is going through, he still found it in himself to be kind. “He putting life into your spirit meanwhile he’s going through a lot,” that user wrote.
After this encounter, several people left comments where they wanted to help Cupcake because of his kindness. One person wrote, “WHERE IS THIS MAN WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF HIM.” Some also guessed that his life was about to change. “That man is about to get a blessing and his life is gonna [sic] change for this,” someone wrote.
Georgia Woman Changes Cupcake’s Life
After Cupcake was kind to the Georgia woman, she decided to help change his life by setting up a GoFundMe. She writes in the GoFundMe page:
“His words and actions touched my heart—and, as the video I posted went viral, they touched over 200,000 people who were equally moved by his spirit. I want to make sure he knows just how loved and supported he truly is. That’s why I’m setting up this GoFundMe. I want to help him find food, clothing, and a safe place to stay, and hopefully, give him the resources to start rebuilding his life.”
Since Shyann started the GoFundMe, almost 3 thousand people donated. So far, the donations to change Cupcake’s life reached $42,936 after a $35k goal was set. In addition to raising money for Cupcake, the Georgia woman also made sure to buy him essentials such as toothpaste and food.
Shyann also made sure to share on TikTok a video where she tells Cupcake about all the money raised for him. His joy when he learned about the GoFundMe touched many people. As Shyann told him, “Everybody loves you,” he innocently laughed with joy and said, “I know everybody loves me.” When he learned that the GoFundMe reached $4,000 (that video was recorded before the donations reached over $40k), he told the Georgia woman, “You’re my best friend.”
In another video, Cupcake thanked everyone who donated to help get him off the street. He also dreams of owning his own business through having a food truck. He already decided what the name was going to be: Flipping Cheese. It’s incredible how one woman from Georgia changed Cupcake’s life forever. Kindness goes a long way.
