Coming along with season 3 of Fox’s hit show Gotham, there will be two new faces. Maggie Geha (Ted 2, Winter’s Tale) will portray the new adult Poison Ivy. Meanwhile, Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time) will introduce a new role in reporter Valerie Vale.
Geha (pictured above) is twice the age of the previous Poison Ivy, Clare Flory. The writers’ remedy for this drastic growth spurt in Gotham is interesting. It appears that the young Ivy Pepper has some sort of encounter with a monster from Indian Hill. The encounter causes her to be “reborn” and moves her one step closer to the villain she’s destined to become. However, Ivy will only age up to 19 for the show – just old enough to be of legal age for all of her seducing prowess.
Chung is bringing in an entirely new character as Valerie Vale. According to TVLine‘s article on the addition, Valerie is apparently the aunt of Vicki Vale, a already-known comic book character from the DC universe. The article then describes Valerie as “a crackerjack reporter dead set on uncovering the truth behind Indian Hill. Confident and dogged, she will do anything to get the scoop.” Sounds like most stereotypical reporters involved in superhero stories.
Gotham airs its third season starting September 19 on Fox.
