Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has a very diverse cast of characters, and Arcsys fans are in search of the most overpowered character in the game. While this may not be entirely conclusive, the following tier list will give you some idea of which characters are the strongest in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and will have the best matchups against the whole cast.
As the meta evolves with time, some of these characters will get swapped around with others, but for the most part, the ones at the top will likely hover around there.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Tier List
Tier | Character |
---|---|
S | Zeta, Nier, Lancelot, Seox |
A+ | Siegfried, Cagliostro, Naramaya, Zooey |
A | Soriz, Eustace, Belial, Charlotta, Beelzebub, Lowain, Metera |
B | Avatar Beilal, Katalina, Gran, Ferry, Grimnir, Vaseraga, Vira, Djeeta, Ladiva, Yuel, Anre |
B- | Anila, Percival |
This game version is fairly balanced with no characters being too weak to use. Although some are clearly stronger than others, there aren’t many 9-1 or 8-2 matchups.
Those who have been playing the game for a while will find it odd to see Percival at the very bottom of the tier list, and Naramaya so high in A+. Along with that, Grand and Katalina have gone from middle-of-the-road characters straight down to mid-B, and aren’t a good starting point anymore. Even though they are some of the easiest to learn, there are far stronger alternatives that would be far better when competing than either of the game’s poster characters.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Strongest Characters
Zeta
Zeta has a full-screen fireball that is quite formidable, and her corner-carry from an anti-air or a hit-confirm is terrifying if you’re on the receiving end. Speaking of anti-airs, her conversion off a single jump is very strong and easily moves the battle from mid-screen to the corner. If you aren’t ready to deal with her zoning, it’ll be an uphill battle.
Nier
If you like weird characters that don’t fit the mold, Nier is a great choice. Not only is she very strong, she has situational potential that is second to none in the game. Her puppet allows her to not only attack and mix up from afar but also set up forced pressure strings on wake-up that you can’t really do much about.
Lancelot
Lancelot has some of the most relentless pressure in the game. His air teleport is almost a neutral skip unless you’re watching for it and are ready with a counter. Many of his specials are plus on block and that allows him to chain his pressure strings leaving you trying to find one opening in the flurry of frametraps. If you want to annihilate your opponent’s block gauge, Lancelot might be a great choice.
Seox
Although the corner carry of Seox isn’t as good as Zeta, it is still excellent. His pressure allows him to put you in difficult-to-block high-low hit-throw situations. His air-fireball lets him set up free-pressure situations that aren’t easy to deal with.
Even after reading through the tier list, the most important thing is that you enjoy the character you play. Even if you are playing at a high level, any character in A-Tier or above will do just fine.
