In case you were not aware, it is almost Halloween. Which means that the ghouls and goblins of gaming are out to play. So, place a candle in your Jack-O-Lanterns, and get ready for some spooky slasher fun in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Today marks the start date for players to experience additional content and items. The events include a new gameplay mode,”Slasher Adversary,” involving eight players. The event will end on November 18th.

“Slasher Adversary” mode involves eight players. Seven of the players are weaponless. They are tasked with defending themselves against an eighth player armed with a shotgun. Players who manage to stay alive for three minutes are granted a shotgun. That is when the real fun begins as players will have the chance to seek brutal revenge against their hunter.

This is a limited time event, of course. Players will have the option to purchase several unique items such as respective themed bobbleheads for your lowrider during the course of the limited time event. There is plenty more where that came from as the event includes two new vehicles. The vehicles are aptly named, the “Franken Stange” and the “Lurcher Hearse.” Also, it appears that players, in heist mode, will have the option to choose from a new selection of Halloween masks and face painting. The new and updated category can be found at the Vespucci Movie Masks shop.

It is important to note that the items and selections will only be available until November 18th when the event ends. However, the “Slasher Adversary” mode will become a permanent feature to the popular online game.

RockStar Games is known for their holiday special events, like snowball fighting during the Winter Holiday season. Have you tried any of Grand Theft Auto Online’s other holiday events? Which is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
