Grimes continues to dish on her past relationship with tech mogul, Elon Musk. The singer recently cleared the air about who pulled the plug on their four-year romance, confessing that she has moved on.
During a feud with fellow singer Azealia Banks on her ex’s social media platform, X, Grimes revealed she broke up with Musk. The drama began when the Canadian native responded to a viral picture of her and Banks’s head photoshopped onto the bodies of Wicked‘s Glinda and Elphaba. “Hate to say it, but would’ve been kinda lit,” she wrote about the image.
The ladies have an ongoing feud that dates back to 2018. Hence, it was no surprise when Banks took Grimes’ remark as offensive and slammed her in an explosive rant. “@Grimezsz girl, the way u are still trying to hold out on some weird ass innocent bulls–t years later after u got dumped, cheated on, ur kids kidnapped, and still trying to paint me like the villain,” she wrote. Banks alleged the Tesla CEO “harvested” Grimes’s eggs and took a picture of her C-section, calling it a “PEAK white female delusion.”
The rapper urged Grimes to get over herself, adding that Musk “has like four new kids, and [you’re] really lame.” Delivering the final blow, Azealia Banks wrote:
“Elon really dogged you and dragged u in front of the entire world had you begging for your kids n shit sis then threw all his hoes in a compound together.”

Grimes wasted no time defending her initial post, explaining to Banks that “it’s just a funny joke, bro.” She then elaborated on Banks’ remark about her relationship with Musk.
“I didn’t ‘get dumped.’ I bounced.My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I’m in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as u want it to be.”
The Genesis songstress concluded by sending warm wishes to Banks. “Ur insanely talented. Even after all this, I want u to win. God bless Mlady,” she wrote. Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, dated the tech billionaire on and off between 2018 and 2022. During their time together, they welcomed three kids — sons X, 4, and Techno, 2, and daughter Exa, 3. However, their break up led to a nasty custody battle between the exes, with Grimes once accusing Musk of keeping one of their kids away from her.
“Fighting and detaching from the love of my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or iq/ strategy experience), all the while I didn’t see one of my babies for 5 months.”
Grimes has since moved on with DJ Anyma, while Elon Musk hasn’t been linked to any woman in particular. Despite the Space X founder being single, fans think he got the better end of the stick.
“She left him….the man just keeps winning,” remarked one fan while another penned, “She’s gross. He dodged a huge bullet.”
