Grimes is sparking debate online after she seemingly blamed her tech mogul ex, Elon Musk, for tampering with her sexuality. The musician and the Tesla CEO are currently in the middle of a custody battle for their three children. However, the Canadian artist put the drama aside to speak about how pregnancy changed her.
In a statement shared on Musk’s X platform, Grimes wrote, “I became way less gay after I was pregnant. My ability to focus on reading and writing went way up, as did my general creativity, but my ability to focus on technical things went *way* down.” She asked her followers, “Is this all explained by hormones?” The singer’s curious post earned numerous reactions, and she happily responded to questions from followers.
One fan suggested that her relationship with Musk is responsible for her repressed sexuality. “No, I think that’s just from being in a heterosexual relationship with a bigot bae,” the follower wrote, to which Grimes replied, “I feel like that shud [sic] make me more gay tho.” When a follower asked what she meant by “less gay,” the Vancouver native responded, “Just less interested in dating girls.” Others believed Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, wasn’t gay in the first place. “I’d say that since you were with Elon for four years, and you’re with Anyma now, obviously, you’re not gay,” remarked one user. “Lol! Maybe more curious, or possibly bi. Not trying to pick on anyone here. Just saying.”
Grimes’ Mother Involved In Custody Battle With Elon Musk
Grimes’ shocking revelation comes months after her mother publicly interfered in her custody battle with the billionaire. The Oblivion songstress and Musk share three kids — son X Æ A-12 Musk, 4; daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 3; and son Techno Mechanicus, whose age is unknown. The estranged couple ended things in early 2023 and have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle since September of that year. In July, Grimes’ mom, Sandy Garossino, inserted herself in the drama, going on X to plead to Musk to give her dying mother a chance to meet her great-grandkids.
“I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you,” the concerned mother wrote before accusing the entrepreneur of “withholding” the kids and their travel documents. “I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honor your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great-grandmother before she passes,” Sandy urged. It is unsure if Musk honored her plea, but the father-of-12 and Grimes had a custody dispute hearing days after Sandy’s post.
