The holiday season is widely considered the most wonderful time of the year. Many times, people will be a bit nicer to strangers on the street, open doors for those behind them, share smiles and greetings, and even donate their time and money to those less fortunate than they are. However, not everyone feels festive during the final weeks of the year. In Florida, one golf course had its own version of The Grinch when a golfer came in and had a major complaint about paying to play.
A TikTok video posted by user @beer_and_bananas1 shows a male version of a Karen causing chaos at a Florida golf course. The video starts off with the man called the “Grinchy Golfer,” arguing with two women behind the counter. One woman tells the customer that he did not pay for his time on the course. However, he disagrees.
The man claims that not only did he already pay to play, but that he previously spoke to a woman on the phone who confirmed his payment and gave him the go-ahead to hit the links. When both of the women claim their manager is unavailable due to a meeting, things go from bad to worse.
Florida Golfer Breaks Christmas Tree Ornament After Disagreement At Local Club
“I paid for my round this morning,” he says before he’s corrected. “Alcohol is free with the round, correct?” he then asks. “Absolutely not,” the employee states.
The golfing male Karen refuses to let the issue go. Instead of walking out of the clubhouse peacefully, he struts over to a nearby Christmas tree, pulls off a glass bulb ornament, and purposely drops it to the ground. The ornament shatters, causing looks from some nearby golfers, before the man walks through the door.
While the video might seem like a typical angry boomer clip, many on TikTok called it out for being a skit. Several viewers claimed that the entire situation seemed rehearsed and that it was not an organic experience at all. However, she never did officially confirm whether it was actually a real or not.
Either way, the clip triggered many people who watched it. “I know who he voted for,” one person commented. “He’s missing the red hat,” said another. “He didn’t pay and he knows it,” a third person declared. “A grown man did that,” a fourth comment read.
So, while many of us are enjoying the holiday spirit and trying to be a little extra kind to people we encounter, it seems that there are still those who are keeping the Grinch mentality wherever they go.
