Where can you find Charcoal Chunks in the new Grounded Shroom and Doom update? If you’re wanting to craft the newly added Oven in Grounded, as well as the associated recipes that need to be cooked in it, then you may be left searching for this one part of the recipe. The Oven is needed to craft Mushroom Bricks as well as the Broodmother BLT, an item needed to summon the terrifying new boss added as part of Shroom and Doom update to Grounded. Luckily, Charcoal Chunks are easy to find. Unfortunately, it’s also going to be just a little bit dangerous. Here’s how to find Charcoal Chunks.
Before You Head Out
There are a couple of things to be aware of before you head out in search of Charcoal Chunks. The area that they are in (as well as the areas nearby) are heavily infested with powerful bugs, so bringing along appropriate weapons, armor, and bandages is just the smart thing to do. If fighting isn’t really your thing then it is possible to sneak past them, but you will really have to be on your toes.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you will need to bring a level 2 hammer with you to get the chunks broken down into carriable pieces. You can gain the recipe for the level 2 hammer, the Insect Hammer, by discovering Boiling Glands or analyzing Stinkbug Parts or Berry Leather. It can be crafted using 4 Stinkbug parts, 4 Berry Leather, and 1 Boiling Gland.
How to Find a Charcoal Chunk in Grounded
Once you are ready for your journey you will be headed to the northern part of the map. The grill that the charcoal is located at is on the strip on land above the pond. You will find it overturned on top of a rock wall. The easiest path to the grill is from the west side, near the picnic table, scaling rocks and walking through the ‘construction zone’. This path will allow you to easily scale the rocks without any additional building materials. There you will see the charcoal sitting on top of a rock.
Use your Insect Hammer on the charcoals and they will be broken into pieces that will fit into your inventory. From here you will be able to take your charcoal back home and finish your recipe for an oven, making your life in the backyard of Grounded just a little bit more comfortable.
