Grand Theft Auto V Trevor GTA 6 Release leak
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

GTA 6, the pipe dream that many of us have been yearning for. While we know it’s in development over at Rockstar Games as we speak, we know nothing as to what it will be, what it entails, and when we can get our hands on it. By the time we’re going to see it, plenty of us may even be sprouting gray hairs. If a brand new leak from a credible member of the community is to be believed though, we may have an idea of when GTA 6 will hit shelves (spoiler alert: Don’t hold your breath). According to Tom Henderson, a leaker known for showcasing details regarding Call of Duty and Battlefield 2042 (the latter of which we now know were true) has unveiled that GTA 6 won’t release until 2025.

In his video, which can be found above, Henderson discusses what he knows of the game so far. Keep in mind that despite his credibility, all these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. According to his words, GTA 6 will take place in a modern-day version of the iconic Vice City from the GTA entry of the same name. He also mentioned that the upcoming entry will have a Fortnite style map, where things change consistently in order to compensate for upcoming updates. From what can be seen, this will likely be an evolution upon Rockstar’s previous introductions of the Diamond Casino & Resort, and the Cayo Perico island. With next-gen hardware likely being the focus for the team at this point (let’s face it, current-gen will be long dead in five years), this opens up the possibility to make much larger changes to the game.

As for the timeframe during 2025, those excited for GTA 6 will have to wait a while. As Henderson mentions, GTA 6 won’t be announced until it’s ready, so the team can ensure the game doesn’t see a delay. Considering how Cyberpunk 2077 went, I think that’s more good than bad. Regardless, they’ll be looking to put the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Whether PC will get the short end of the stick and see its port down the line is currently unknown.

What are your thoughts on this news? Do you believe GTA 6 will be as successful as everyone hopes when it releases? Let me know!
