A few months ago, Rockstar Games released a new update for GTA Online that finally unveiled the Diamond Casino. With rumors of GTA 6 swirling around the internet and Red Dead Redemption 2 online still in its early years, some fans believed Rockstar was set to slow down on adding any significant updates for GTA V’s multiplayer mode. Well, that’s not the case as the developer/publisher has just announced a brand-new heist for the game.

GTA Online

According to Rockstar Games, The Diamond Casino Heist will be the game’s biggest and most ambitious heist yet. Here’s an excerpt from the announcement mentioned above that breaks down what you’ll be doing in the heist:

“The Diamond Casino Heist is an all-new approach to Heist architecture and execution: one huge gameplay-packed operation as you work with the Cheng family to infiltrate the most secure building in all of Los Santos. Featuring a diverse range of opportunities for set-up and prep missions that shape your plan of attack, multiple paths of approach, constantly changing security measures and a dizzying array of choices once inside. Expect outcomes for you and your crew to change on the fly as you deal with each new situation, leading to more choices mid-mission. Even if the best laid plans go sideways, you’ll have the opportunity to keep the mission afloat without failing by shooting your way out with your remaining team lives, all allowing the Heist to be highly replayable with new scenarios unfolding each time.”

The ability to replay the heist to uncover a different ending or a new crucial decision is certainly appealing, especially compared to the tamer early heists from GTA Online. It also sounds like preparation for The Diamond Casino Heist will be much more significant this time around. The development of GTA V’s campaign heists was critical to how the missions played out. You can go in loud and stupid or try to get things handled discreetly. Who you selected on your squad was also somewhat important. In several previous GTA Online heists, there was a disconnect in that regard. It seems that this will change with The Diamond Casino Heist.

Along with the new unpredictable heist, players will also be able to open up a retro Arcade business property as a front. There, you can practice specific tasks you’ll need to master for the heist while your business is booming upstairs (which totally sounds like something out of Ocean’s Eleven).

The Diamond Casino Heist will release December 12th, 2019.

Are you excited for this new update? For those who have abandoned GTA Online, does this heist entice you to return? Let us know in the comments below!
