You may recall that a few weeks ago, we discussed updates coming to both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. These updates promised to breathe fresh life into both games, with more content to come later this year. Thus far, Rockstar delivered with the Naturalist update for Red Dead Online. Next week, the team is looking to give GTA Online a new feel with the Los Santos Summer Special update. This update releases on August 11th to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, bringing some new life into underappreciated areas of the Online mode.

GTA Online

The most underappreciated of all is easily the Galaxy Super Yacht. The Yacht realistically only served two purposes up to this point. Make yourself feel rich, and unlock the Piracy Prevention missions. With the upcoming update, there’ll be a whole host of co-op missions coming to the Yacht. You can do these with up to three other friends, participating in deep-sea diving or engaging in high-speed combat. You’ll need a lot of money to get the Yacht of your dreams, so participate in some of the upcoming Business Battles to snag yourself that sweet, sweet cash.

Other than those missions and Business Battles, you can expect some new Adversary modes to take part in. Some specifically take part in the Diamond Casino and Resort, and unexpected and interesting location. It wouldn’t be a GTA Online update though without some new wheels. Over a dozen are on their way, including two more Open Wheel vehicles to take for a spin. All of these are joined together with, of course, optimizations and bug fixes. Hopefully, those fix some of the long-standing bugs because they’re exhausting at this point.

This may not be the most flashy update we’ve seen in GTA Online, but it’s to help us prep for later this year. We’ll be getting the biggest update GTA Online has ever seen, including the return of Heists. I’m very excited about that, but it seems we’ll be waiting for a few more months. Regardless, I’d like to hear your opinions on this update. Will you be playing through the upcoming co-op missions with friends? Do those new vehicles catch your interest? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
