Grand theft auto is heading back to its top-down routes in the latest GTA Online update titled Tiny Racers. Rockstar announced the latest round of DLC earlier this week with a quick trailer introducing the new features that come along with it.
Just like any other GTA Online race, Tiny Racers will allow players the use of weapons, stunts, and skill to overtake or knock out opponents. Weapons and skills are picked up in the classic racing style, defined by markers throughout the map, with the update introducing one’s unique only to this game mode.

Cannon Ball shaped bombs, forward shooting machine guns, parachutes to avoid enemy fire, the Tiny Racer’s DLC takes a unique spin on the usual GTA Online deathmatch races. Theirs’s also the good old fashion approach to the violence of simply knocking your rivals off the track, as it seems that – just like most of the online races – going off the track will self-destruct the victim’s car.
The top-down perspective does change the format and obviously the display of these weapons and skills, as the trailer shows off.
While the game type looks hot wheels come to life, the timing of the release is interesting. The update looks strikingly similar to the 90’s game Micro Machines, which is also set to get a modernized version later this month, but only time will tell the differences between the two.
Tiny Racers will be GTA Online’s most substantial update in months, the biggest since the Cunning Stunts pack released earlier this year. The update will be released April 25, free of charge for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
