Guardians and Runners Assemble With Bungie’s First Crossover Between Its Two Games

Two worlds collide

It’s been a big day for Marathon news. First, we finally get an official confirmation of its release date; then we get not one but three editions we can pre-order; and then we also get information about an ambitious crossover between two Bungie titles. That’s right, ahead of the release of Marathon, the studio is making a crossover with Destiny 2. This event will bring several cosmetics, celebrating the launch of the extraction shooter, and also giving our Guardians some of that Runner drip we’ve been waiting for.

Destiny 2 Players Will Get Free Items, and Pre-Ordering Marathon Will Give Even More Goodies

After a long wait, Marathon finally has a release date, which means pre-orders are live. However, that isn’t the biggest piece of news, as fans of other Bungie games, more specifically Destiny 2, will get some Marathon goodies to enjoy while they wait for the launch of the extraction shooter.

For starters, Destiny 2 players will get the following items for free:

  • Exfil emote
  • Silkworm Weave Shader
  • Moder MIDA Multi-tool Exotic Weapon Ornament

All the above items will be free for everyone and claimable through the Eververse store starting January 20.

On top of that, those who pre-order Marathon will get even more goodies for their Destiny 2 account:

  • UESC Echo-type Shell Exotic Ghost Shell
  • UESC Rover Exotic Ship
  • UESC Sprinter Exotic Sparrow

Contrary to the above bundle, these ones are available today if you decide to purchase Marathon ahead of its release.

In truth, all cosmetics look amazing, but we’re more surprised by the ones that will be free for everyone. We were not expecting so many goodies to celebrate the extraction shooter, but getting Marathon out there is quite the achievement for Bungie, so we’re glad everyone’s jumping in to celebrate in more than one game.

With Marathon upon us, it will be nice to jump between two Bungie games now, both offering vastly different experiences, but the same high-quality gunplay we can expect from the studio.
