Speculation and rumors have spread regarding the eighth, and final season, of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. Based on the novels A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, the author also has been deeply involved in the writing for the show. The Game of Thrones show will come to an end before the books actually do. So fans of the books and show alike are in suspense about how it all will end. The actors have been keeping very quiet about the ending – until now.
“You’re going to need therapy. I think just the show ending is going to send all of the world into professional help. I think it’s going to make me incredibly emotional. We’re all emotional about the fact that this is the end, and this is the end of something incredibly significant for all of us, and it’s been a truly incredible thing to be a part of.”
Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, had also said:
“Genuinely the effect it had on me was profound. That sounds insanely pretentious, but I’m an actor, so I’m allowed one pretentious adjective per season.”
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, reported she was “numb” after reading the final scripts. And Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, has told fans to expect an action sequence to rival Season 6’s Battle of the Bastards.
It’s been reported that Season 8 will open with Winterfell and contain plenty of callbacks to the series’ successful pilot. Daenerys will meet other characters as they all prepare to face the ultimate threat to their land: The Night King and his army of the dead. The final season for Game of Thrones will air on HBO in 2019. The fates of beloved characters such as Arya Stark, Jaime Lannister, and Jon Snow will come to a close soon.
