This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Besides adding new areas and side quests, Genshin Impact‘s version 4.6 update also features a new world boss named Legatus Golem. This creature takes the shape of a centaur and is crafted from marble and brass. Despite its large size, this enemy is quite fast and can quickly kill your characters with its deadly attacks. If you want to defeat this boss and farm the Ascension Material, you must understand and exploit its weaknesses.

You can find Legatus Golem inside the Faded Castle in the Fontaine region. The entrance into this underwater area is located near the Petrichor village. This settlement stands on top of a small island in the middle of the lake between Fontaine and Sumeru.

When you approach this area, you will automatically immediately trigger a cutscene, which starts the Petrichorror Dream side quest. Just follow the objectives until you meet with a talking cat named Osse, who will unlock the barrier to the Faded Castle.

How To Beat

Since Legatus Golem boss is made out of marble, it is quite resistant against normal attacks. It also has a sturdy shield that will reduce the amount of damage you land on it. It would be best for you to bring a Geo DPS, such as Chiori and Navia, to destroy its protection.

You may also want to bring a tank that can create a barrier for your team. The boss has surprisingly powerful attacks that can quickly reduce your HP bar to red. During my first time facing this monster, I lost two units despite them having over 15 thousand HP.

Zhongli is still the best character to create a tanky and long-lasting shield. However, you may also use Diona if you want to bring a healer to this boss fight. Thoma is also a valid choice since most of Legatus Golem’s attacks are infused with the Pyro element.

Here is the best team to use to beat Legatus Golem boss in Genshin Impact:

  • DPS: Navia
  • Sub-DPS: Furina
  • Tank: Zhongli
  • Support: Bennett

Legatus Golem will create Resonators, which appear as harp-like instruments. This mechanism will regularly unleash a wave of fire attacks that can take out one-third of your HP. You should prioritize breaking them since it will also deplete the boss’ shield.

Lastly, try to stay on Legatus Golem’s backside to avoid most of its moves. Remember to be patient and don’t get greedy when you are attacking the boss. I recommend hitting the creature twice before dashing away. Of course, this strategy is not necessary if you have Zhongli’s tanky shield.
