Gwyneth Paltrow’s Utah court case first came into the limelight in 2019. While she did not seem interested in pursuing the case, the singer has had a change of heart. Now she is ready — see her arriving to clear her name.
In 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow was involved in an accident at Deer Valley Ski Resort, Utah resulting in a court case. The other victim was a retired Optometrist, Terry Sanderson, who was at the same venue enjoying the snow activity.
Three years later, Sanderson slammed the actress with a $3.1 million lawsuit. He told the court she had crashed into him. He labeled it a hit-and-run, adding that Paltrow did not bother checking on him. This accident left him with severe injuries, including broken ribs and a brain injury.
Paltrow fired back with a countersuit asserting that Sanderson was out for her because of her status. Her attorneys maintained the story was made up, as Sanderson was the perpetrator. According to her, he ran into her from behind. But the confusing part was it was never a hit-and-run. Paltrow claimed she asked after his welfare and he claimed to be fine.
Sanderson’s initial hit-and-run claim was written off by the judge. But this did not deter the former optometrist who maintained he suffered healthwise. The lawsuit wound down to $300,000.
